Floats 2017

Floats Parade 2017 – Saturday 24th June

The parade of floats through the centre of Stamford is one of the highlights of a number of activities during the week. We have 17 floats this year, which will gather on the Recreation Ground from midday before setting off round the town at 2pm. Many of the floats have been provided free by C S Ellis for which Stamford Kiwanis are very grateful.

Please turn out to support a true community event in our town – this year’s theme is simply “Fun”, so there will be lots to entertain the crowds!

Watch out for the Spitfire which will fly over the Recreation Ground at the start of the parade, and the post parade entertainment at the Arena on the Recreation Ground which this year is provided by the Welland School of Dance and JHH Dance.

Details of Road Closures

The parade leaves Recreation Ground Road at 2pm and then progresses round the town before returning around 3:30pm.

Roads affected by the closures are: North St, Scotgate, Red Lion Square, Red Lion St, Broad St, Star Lane, High St. Roads are closed shortly before the parade arrives and will reopen as soon as it has passed. Signed diversions are in place.
